This chapter discusses how September 11 attacks generated a major transformation in the political discourse of modernity. Its discusses how significant number of political philosophers of the Right and the Left joined together and castigated Foucault and other critics of the Enlightenment rationality for their failure to defend what they dub “Western values.”
