The Anarchist Horizon
The Anarchist Horizon
The sixth and last chapter of the book argues that politics should operate horizontally rather than vertically. This ontological shift suggests a need not wait for the emergence of a ‘greater’ class-consciousness, as one can immediately disengage capitalism be reorienting economic landscapes in alternative ways. Of the socialist movements of history, Marxism has had its faults. Under Marxism, the oppressed rise up and seize state power. A few selected caretakers then make promises to destroy it after a period of transition. But the supposed withering away of the state never comes. This is a matter of decentralization, to which anarchism works itself best in. Non-hierarchical vision of geography gains significant traction when humans reject scale and embrace an anarchist flat ontology.
