This chapter discusses how fashion became a significant tool for political change. The rhetoric of fashion includes clothes such as pantaloons and petticoats used in fashion writing. The central objective of fashion writing is to defy government censorship, which was evident during the prominence of La Moda and La Camelia, two of the renowned fashion magazines in Argentina. Among those countries struggling against censorship policies were Argentina and others in the Latin American region. This chapter concludes that fashion writing proved to be significant in the reexamination of the history of morality, gender, and dress.
