This chapter analyzes the dynamics of the One Million Signature Campaign and its impact on the feminization of Islamist women. It depicts structural changes and global regulatory forces caused by the One Million Signature Campaign, such as the pursuit of negotiations on state liberalization and the rise of Islamist radicalism as a new political force in Algeria. The petition campaign had a disruptive effect on the long process of negotiation that took among political players and left women at the margin of debates about political change. The chapter also points out how feminist groups had engendered the negotiation process through specific discourses and forms of mobilization.
